BMHC hosts an ongoing conversation segment called “Centering the Margins” in collaboration with Mohit Arora the creator of the Health Equity Club on Clubhouse. Every Tuesday at 7pm people are able to talk with others who are like themselves – people who truly understand what they are going through and can share the type of practical insights that can only come from firsthand experiences.
Every Tuesday at 7 p.m. EST starting November 2nd, guest speakers will join Health Equity Club and BMHC to discuss a variety of themes surrounding mental health in marginalized communities. Centering the Margins aims to create a harm reductive space for community building, and skill sharing. Conversations will address systemic obstacles to mental health management, and break the stigma and shame associated with mental health, building a community where people feel understood, heard and considered.
Conversations will be moderated by Health Equity Club’s founder Mohit Arora and BMHC’s Aishah Seivwright. Mohit is a health equity activist and public speaker. He currently leads Love Hamesha—a creative studio focused on developing purpose-driven content. Mohit is passionate about health, identity and art. Aishah Seivwright is a mental health advocate and Program Coordinator BMHC MTL. Aishah is an imaginative solution-creator who believes that supporting mental health in Black and marginalized communities is a critical step towards meaningful change in the lives of many and towards dismantling systems of oppression, towards a better future.
