Black Mental Health Connections Montreal (BMHC MTL) is an alliance of organizations and individuals focused on the mental health and well-being of the Black community in Montreal.
Black Mental Health Connections Montreal Mission: promote a greater understanding of mental health as it pertains to the black community; advocate for and promote increased access to culturally relevant mental health resources; and promote prevention and daily care.
There are no membership fees to join Black Mental Health Connections Montreal. However, member organizations are asked to contribute resources in the form of space, promotion, etc. for BMHC MTL members and events. Voting members are expected to attend a values orientation within 2 weeks of joining. This will promote transparency about the mission, objectives, workflow guidelines, and guiding principles of BMHC prior to new members becoming active participants in our work.
Discrimination, or disrespect in any form is not tolerated within BMHC MTL and will be grounds for exclusion from the group. This includes but is not limited to perpetuating colourism, classism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, and ableism.
